Clinical Psychologist & Associate
Binita is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist who has provided psychological therapies in a variety of NHS settings (2005-present). She currently works in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and provides psychological assessment, formulation and interventions that integrate various therapeutic approaches including Compassion Focussed Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Systemic Therapy and Mindfulness. Binita has worked in a range of specialist services including the Learning Disability and Neurodevelopmental Team, Looked After Children/Edge of Care Team, Early Intervention Schools Team, Crisis Management, SafeCORE (couple conflict and domestic violence service), as well as generic child and family services.
Binita has experience working with adults, adolescents and children with a range of mental health difficulties. She provides therapy on a one-to-one basis and alongside family, in order to work within the broader social context of the difficulties presented. Within her practice, she aims to provide an empathetic, non-judgemental space in which people can feel free to explore their difficulties and implement the changes needed. All of Binita’s work is catered to the individual’s need and she therefore provides bespoke evidence-based therapy to help individuals achieve their identified goals.
Binita is a passionate compassion focussed therapist and over the last four years has developed her compassion focussed practice, culminating in her presenting at the International CFT Conference in October last year. In her work, she has seen the power of compassion in helping people who are caught within the cycle of shame and self-criticism.
Binita also tries to cultivate compassion and mindfulness in her daily life.
