If you have been looking for a local form of counselling: Edinburgh-based, Balanced Minds can provide you with different types of therapy to choose from according to your needs.
Our therapists have extensive experience in delivering Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
CFT stands for Compassion Focused Therapy. It is at the heart of what we do.
Initially developed by Professor Paul Gilbert, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) has been growing as an effective integrated psychological therapy that can help with a vast range of life difficulties, alleviating emotional distress and other mental health problems. If you are looking for a compassionate form of therapy, Edinburgh-based or remotely, this innovative approach may work well for you.
To pinpoint the exact definition we are refer to in regard to Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), our trained therapists are sensitive to your distress whilst teaching you the skill of being compassionate to yourself; by learning how to cultivate self-compassion, you are able to treat yourself in the same way you would treat a close friend or family member.
First developed in the UK, you can benefit from CFT when you are looking for in-office counselling, Edinburgh-based (and in our London offices) as well as remotely.
