Dr Bec Harvey

Clinical Psychologist & Associate

Dr Bec Harvey qualified as a Clinical Psychologist after attending the University of Surrey’s doctorate programme. She has 8 years of experience working in the NHS within various settings including a community based crisis service as well as, learning disability, older adults and children services. Rebecca currently works in a specialist paediatric role within the Neurology department at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Rebecca applies a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapeutic work, often creating bespoke intervention packages which are client-led. She enjoys working with a number of therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, systemically informed therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and narrative approaches. She also regularly engages her clients in mindfulness and imagery based exercises.

Dr Bec Harvey’s research interests are focused on creating effective interventions that reduce mental contamination. She is also curious about how compassion focused therapy can be applied to obsessive compulsive presentations. More recently she is providing industry consultation to the creators of a novel mental health app in relation to clinical safety and user accessibility.
