Dr Becca Lewis
Clinical Psychologist & Associate
Dr Becca Lewis is a Clinical Psychologist who gained her Doctorate from Royal Holloway, University of London. She has worked in the NHS for the last 8 years and currently holds a senior NHS post working with people who have been affected by cancer. Rebecca has experience of working with individuals facing a range of difficulties in life, including depression and anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, trauma, psychosis, difficulties with sex and people living with long-term health conditions, including cancer and HIV.
Within her practice, Rebecca aims to provide an empathic, non-judgemental space in which people feel safe to explore their difficulties and make changes in life. Rebecca works collaboratively with clients and is always guided by the clients hopes and wishes for therapy. She is able to offer therapy which is structured and focussed or more exploratory.
Dr Becca Lewis was drawn to Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) because she believes that it provides a comprehensive understanding of why humans experience emotional distress, whilst also offering practical strategies to promote wellbeing and reduce distress. As well as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Rebecca’s practice also incorporates ideas and techniques from other evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness.
