Dr Lisa Dutheil

Consultant Clinical Psychologist

Dr Lisa Dutheil has worked as a clinical psychologist since 2011. Before qualification, Lisa worked for third sector drug and alcohol services, and since qualifying, has worked in NHS substance use and complex mental health services. She currently holds a senior NHS role in community psychosis services in London.

Lisa is able to work with a broad range of psychological experiences, including addiction, anxiety, depression, psychosis, trauma and difficulties with managing emotions, self-criticism, shame, self-confidence and self-esteem. She enjoys working individually with people and in groups. She is also experienced in offering clinical supervision, reflective practice, and psychologically informed consultation and training.

Lisa’s primary therapeutic approaches are Compassion Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative approaches, Motivational Interviewing and more recently,  EMDR. Lisa also draws upon her own lived experience of psychological difficulties and of using compassion focused therapy and mindfulness based approaches to help with these. She has a warm and collaborative approach, and is committed to find ways together to alleviate distress, improve well-being and help fulfil personal values and goals. She feels privileged to have the opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and situations, and to be able to learn from each person’s individual experiences, contexts and ways of being.
