Dr Felicity Hughes qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Surrey. She has over 15 years of experience working in the NHS within various settings including community mental health teams. Felicity currently holds a senior NHS post within brain injury rehabilitation and adult neuropsychology services.

Felicity has extensive experience helping individuals navigate a wide range of psychological difficulties. She is particularly skilled in supporting those adjusting to life-changing circumstances and managing long-term health conditions. Her expertise extends to assisting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and psychosis, always approaching her work with a holistic view that considers the intricate mind-body connection.

Felicity is a passionate advocate of Compassion-Focused Therapy, a cornerstone of her approach to understanding and alleviating emotional distress. She believes deeply in the power of compassion to help individuals break free from cycles of self-criticism and shame, fostering a non-judgmental environment where healing can occur. Alongside this, she integrates various therapeutic models into her practice, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, tailoring her methods to meet each individual’s unique needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Felicity is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of psychologists. She has extensive experience supervising both qualified and trainee clinical psychologists and provides training across a range of areas to professional teams. Her compassionate approach extends to her role as a mentor and educator, where she emphasises the importance of empathy and understanding in the field of psychology.
