Jen Wood
Psychotherapist & Associate
Jen Wood is an experienced therapist, coach, supervisor and mindfulness meditation teacher. She works in a trauma informed and embodied way, combining eastern psychological insights and modern evidence-based scientific approaches. She loves to help people reconnect to themselves, to others and to the natural world.
Her range of skills include teaching mindfulness and compassion meditation, creative mind/generative coaching, clinical hypnosis, and a range of psychotherapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural, compassion focused and schema therapy, mindful self-compassion and internal family systems. Jen is also a bodyworker and the mind body connection is important part of how she works. In addition, she works therapeutically with the breath.
She has led a therapy service within a palliative care setting and a centre for children with additional support needs and their families. She has worked in perinatal mental health, wellbeing services and now works in private practice.
Jen most enjoys guiding people back home to themselves and helping them appreciate how wonderful they are. She particularly enjoys supporting women to dissolve the fears and navigate the transitions of midlife. She also has an interest in working with issues around menopause and ADHD.
Jen Wood uses compassion in her personal practice as well as in her therapeutic work, coaching and mindfulness teaching. She chooses to work in a compassion focused way because she has found it to be transformational in her life. As a committed lifelong learner, she is currently a student of Compassionate Inquiry with Dr Gabor Maté.
Jen enjoys being outdoors and loves nature. She has a personal practice of kundalini yoga and breathwork and is interested in transpersonal states of consciousness.
